On November 23rd, 2024, Living Streets Alliance, Los Amigos Technology Academy, and Pima County partnered to bring a traffic calming and safety project to the Los Ranchitos neighborhood! We hosted a lovely and fun Block Painting Party, where we brought students’ artwork into newly installed ‘Quick Build’ chicanes. Near the start of the 2024-2025 school year, Los Amigos kicked off the Walking School Bus on Walk and Bike to School Day! It was an amazing turnout with more than 200 participants which included students, parents, and Los Amigos teachers and staff. Students continued walking to school with parents and teachers guiding them every Wednesday morning for the rest of the Fall semester and during the Spring semester. The Walking School Bus will continue in the upcoming school year to encourage students and parents to walk to and from school.
